James “Jim” Kingston was born to Lloyd and Helen Kingston in Port Orchard on February 23, 1943, and died November 19, 2018. He is survived by Karen, his wife of 53 years, and two grown sons. He served one term in the United States Army, then came home and married Karen and entered the apprentice program at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He worked there as a marine pipefitter for 35 years. After retiring from the Shipyard, he drove tour busses for Majestic Tours for several years before joining the Kitsap Airporter.
He was very active at Christ the Rock Community Church for many years. He helped install the electrical system in their new buildings, as well as being on the board of Elders. He was also very involved with the theater ministry, helping with the lighting for Christmas Dessert Theater and the spring children’s musical.
He served as a volunteer firefighter in South Kitsap for over 20 years, was also a long time member of Olalla Grange.
He was always willing help his friends, or anyone else that had need.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
