James Lang

James Anthony "Jim" Lang died September 1, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. He was 43. He was born in Seattle, Washington on January 12, 1960 to Anthony and Joan (Spencer) Lang. Jim graduated from South kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington in 1978; and, attended Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington. Jim became a paraplegic in 1979 from a car accident. He was a past store manager of an organic meat company. Jim was a promoter for the Kitsap County Music Awards recognizing local talent; involved in wheel chair basketball and held many international titles in wheel chair arm wrestling; loved the outdoors, especially Montana; loved hunting and was an avid race horse fan. Jim is survived by his mother, Joan Lang, of Port Orchard; father and step-mother, Anthony and Catherine Lang, of Port Orchard; son - David Lang of Active Duty Marine Corps Camp Pendleton, San Diego, California; daughter - Corinna Lang of Port Orchard; brother - Daniel Lang and wife Tricia, of Port Orchard; sister - Lesley Rockney of Renton, Washington; step sister-Dara Osterhout and her children Alicia, Nadia, and Talon, of Bremerton, WA; 2 nieces: Lori Lang of Port Orchard and Christine Rockney-Sidhu of Everett, Washington; as well as many family members locally and in Canada. A memorial service will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2003.
