James Michael 'Jim' Manning, 48 of Olalla, Washington died April 17, 2007 in Bremerton, Washington of natural causes. He was born to John and Mary (Budreau) Manning on April 21, 1958 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Jim graduated from Holy Name Catholic High School in 1976 & was attending Olympic College in Bremerton at the time of his death. He married Colleen Clarke in New Westminster, BC on February 14, 1990. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1981 to 2003 attaining the rank of Quartermaster Chief Petty Officer. He served in Desert Storm & Desert Shield, Somalia & the Cold War. He was awarded 4 Navy Commendation Medals. He was currently a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also employed at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton as a S/56 & in his 2nd year of the apprentice program. Jim was a dedicated family man, an avid reader, sports fanatic (go Hawks!), photographer & loved fishing. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1981. He is survived by his loving wife Colleen; father John Manning of Lady Lake, FA; daughters Jennifer Thiel (Luke) of Victoria, BC, Christie Butterwick (Ryan) of Leslieville, AB & Michelle Meeks (Jason) of HI; brother John Manning (Autumn) of FA; sister Marylee Manning & her daughters Jessica, Krista & Sara; grandchildren Brandon & Nathan Molander; Alyssa, Nicholas, Mackenzie & Rhyse Butterwick; parents-in-law Rita & Jud Clarke; sisters-in-law Kathy, Laurie & Valerie; son-in-law Daryl Molander. Celebration of Life at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on April 23, 2007 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Relay for Life, American Cancer Society ATTN: Memorials, 2120 1st Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109.
