James Mccollum

James "Mac" Lee McCollum, 79 of Port Orchard, died April 10, 2007. He was born April 21, 1927 in Kansas City Missouri to Cecil & Yulah (Hungate) McCollum. He married Dixie Lee Stacy March 31, 1961 in Concord California. Mac worked for 20 years for King County Corrections in Seattle. He retired from the U.S. Navy as an E-7 GMGC, serving 30 years from 1945-1975. He enjoyed guns, reading, horses, camping, his Scottish heritage, dogs, and his grandchildren. He was a member of NRA, Kitsap County Gun Club, AARP, American Legion, and the Fleet Reserve Association. Surviving are wife Dixie McCollum of Port Orchard; son Jay McCollum of Port Orchard; daughters Rachel (Keith) McCollum of Ogden Utah and Rexan (Long) McCollum of Corpus Christi Texas; son-in-law Bob Keith of Ogden Utah; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial service 3:00pm on April 14, 2007 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
