James Millard

James S. "Jim" Millard died peacefully of natural causes October 10, 2003 in Port Orchard, Washington. He was 90.He was born October 5, 1913 in Sparta, Wisconsin to Charles and Belle (Lanham) Millard.Jim married Roseann (Fischer) Millard in Boardman, Iowa on September 11, 1937.He graduated from high school in 1931 in Sparta, Wisconsin.Jim worked 25 years - until 1975 - as a milk and dairy delivery man for Arden Farms. He also worked 22 years as a real estate broker for Realty World - let his license expire in 1997. He was a former Mayor of Old Forest City, WA; Past President of St. Vincent De Paul, and St. Vincent Conference; St. Gabriel Church BSA Silver Beaver and St. George Awards, Past Faithful Navigator of Bremerton Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus; Past Assistant Commissioner of Chief Seattle BSA; Past Dist. Commander of Olympic Area Council BSA.Jim was a member of St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church.He is survived by sons - Larry Millard (& wife, Karen) of California City, CA, Jim C. Millard (& wife, Bonnie) of Port Orchard, Washington; daughters - Ruthann Barney (& husband, Joe) of Little Rock, CA, Agnes Wilson of Newport News, VA.; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held October 14, 2003 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center. A Rosary will be held October 14, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. - also at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center.A funeral mass will be held October 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Sunset Lane Memorial Park of Port Orchard, Washington. A reception will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
