James Norris

James Randle Norris of Port Orchard, Washington died December 10, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. He was 76. He was born November 12, 1927 in Mulga, Alabama to Murphy B. and Bertha "EC" (Early) Norris. He married Darlene A. Schneider December 28, 1985 in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. James graduated from Minor High School in Mulga, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 - 1949 as PFC. James was a self employed painter (owner/operator of Old Country Painter) for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing; was a member of Disabled Veterans' of America. James was a Baptist. He is survived by his wife - Darlene Norris of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; step-sons - Lonnie Williams (& wife, Julie) of Houston, Texas, Stephen Williams of Crockett, California; daughter - Janet Kay Williams (& husband, Benny) of McLain, Mississippi; step-daughter - Cindy Murphy (& husband,Patrick) of Wheatland, Wyoming; brothers - Robert Norris (& wife, Pat) of Federal Way, Washington, Billy Norris (& wife, Claudia) of Everett, Washington; sisters - Alline Pitts (& husband, William) of Adamsville, Alabama, Bert Faille (& husband, Darryl) of Redmond, Washington, Linda Hoggarth (& husband, Dennis) of Briar, Washington, Madeline Norris of Gig Harbor, Washington; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on December 14, 2003. A funeral will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center on December 15, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington on December 15, 2003 at 2:00 p.m.
