James F. Strube, 89 of Port Orchard, died January 22, at Harrison Medical Center. He was born November 5, 1921 in Dillon, MT to George & Susan (Pierson) Strub. He attended school in Helena, MT, and then served in the US Army, 163rd Infantry as a Staff Sergeant in New Guinea. On November 10, 1945 he married Ruth Maurer in Port Orchard, WA. Mr. Strube worked 26 years at the Naval Exchange and was a pioneer member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. He is survived by 4 daughters, Carol Losey of Spanaway, Marcia (David) Hawkins of Edmonds, Patricia Cummings of Petaluma, CA and Susan Strube of Anaconda, MT, 16 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren & 1 Great Great Grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, a son William, 2 brothers Henry & Joseph and 2 sisters Kathryn Martin & Susanne Groulex. A Funeral Mass will be 11am Friday, January 28 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with burial to follow at Sunset Lane Memorial Park. A Rosary service will be 7pm Thursday at Rill Chapel.
