Jane Sowden

Jane A. Sowden died January 3, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. She was 93.She was born December 14, 1909 in Kingsville, Texas to Charles and Kate (Sanford) Annis.She graduated from North High School in Denver, Colorado.Jane married David Sowden November 11, 1938 in Denver, Colorado.She was a homemaker.She also worked as a nurses aide.Jane enjoyed ceramics, tatting, cross stitch and hand work. She was Past President of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary in Richland, Washington. She loved reading and classical music.She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Port Orchard, Washington.Jane is survived by son - David Richard Sowden of Forest City, North Carolina; daughter - Jane Tailleur (and husband, Dan) of Port Orchard, Washington; brother - Robert Annis of Spokane, Washington; 17 grandchildren and at least 20 plus great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son - John A. Sowden, sisters - Susan Swanson, Mary Sivers, Margaret Bell, brothers - Charles Annis, Mack Annis, Jack Annis and John Annis.A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Port Orchard, Washington on January 6, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.Interment will be held at Sunset Lane Cemetery - also of Port Orchard, Washington.
