Jason Long

Jason Matthew Long died as the result of a mountain climbing accident on Mt. Cruiser in the Olymics August 17, 2002. He was 23.He was born September 21, 1978 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Richard and Hilary (Hermanson) Long.Jason graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington in 1997. He also graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington in 2001.He was an Electrical Engineer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 3 years.He enjoyed mountain climbing, bike riding, family and friends.Jason is survived by his parents Richard and Hilary (Hermanson) Long; grandparents Don and Donna Scott; and, was preceded in death by grandparents Wiley and Annebelle Long and Russel Allan Hermanson.Visitations will be held at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Washington Wednesday August 21, 2002 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Thursday August 22, 2002 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.A complete traditional service will be held at Rill Chapel Thursday, August 22, 2002 at 1:00 p.m.; and, interment will follow the chapel service at approximately 3:00 p.m. at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor, Washington.Memorial donations may be made to:Mason County Search and Rescue.
