Jason Daniel Matthiessen

Jason Matthiessen died unexpectedly on November 24, 2017. He is sorely missed. Jason was a loving son, a wonderful husband, and an affectionate father who was dedicated to his three children. He worked as a GIS Programmer for Pierce County and was a diligent and conscientious employee who will be irreplaceable. Jason was raised in Port Orchard and earned his B.S. at the Evergreen State College. He loved his home state, with its beautiful rivers, forests, and mountains. He had knack for finding minerals and seeing animals, and was an avid fisherman. His legacy will live on in our hearts and from his efforts to improve the Pierce County 911 system so that others' lives could be saved.
