Jasper Daniel Hodge, 79, died at his home in Belfair, Washington on February 11, 2005. He was born August 31, 1925 in St. Paul, Arkansas to Harvey Hodge and Hannah (Maggie) Davis. Jasper married Estella McKinsey on June 21, 1983 in Carson City, Nevada. Mr. Hodge worked as a Painter Forman in Shop 71 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington, retiring in 1982 after 17 years. He also retired in 1963, after 20 years service in the U.S. Navy as E-5 Petty Officer 2nd Class. Jasper was a member of the Navy Fleet Reserve. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, his grandchildren, and he was an avid Raider football fan. Surviving are his wife Estella of the family home; sons David and wife Mim Hodge of Mill Creek, California, Allen and wife Lisa Hodge of Belfair, Washington, Gary and wife Elizabeth Farvour of New Mexico; daughters Brenda Hodge Dumont and companion Eric Hembury of Silverdale, Washington, Mona Hodge Repass and companion Randy Currie of Belfair, Washington, Lora and husband John Onustack of Lynnwood, Washington, and Carla and husband Kevin Rolfe of Toronto, Canada; brother Jack and wife Patty Noble of Camino, California; sister Nita (Noble)and husband Leroy Bishop of Oroville, California; 18 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister Beulah Luther and brother Roland Hodge. Memorial Service will be at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on Friday, February 18, 2005 at 1:00pm. Mr. Hodge will be buried at sea by the U.S. Navy. Memorial donations may be made to Fleet Reserve Association, 521 National Ave., Bremerton, WA 98310.
