J. Evan Blackburn of Port Orchard, Washington died September 17, 2005 at his daughter's home in Gig Harbor, Washington. He was 95. He was born October 7, 1909 in Hunnington, Utah. Jay attended high school in Nampa, Idaho. He worked as an electrician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard - retiring in 1980. Jay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Southworth Ward). He is survived by son - Jay Blackburn of Gig Harbor, Washington; daughters - Deann Hokanson of Port Orchard, Washington, Virginia Burgess, of West Valley City, Utah, Bonnie Walton of Gig Harbor, Washington, step-daughter - Melba Rumsey of Camano Island, Washington, Elaine Ross of Oxnard, California; brothers - Jim Blackburn and Foy Blackburn both of Vale, Oregon; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two wives: Lilly A. Hower (August 19, 1998) and Vivian Blackburn (September 18, 1998). Visitation will be held at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center (Mullenix) at Noon on Thursday, September 22, 2005. Burial will be at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard. Memorial donations may be made to: Multicare Hospice
