Jean Prichard

Jean L. Prichard, 94 of Port Orchard, WA died March 9, 2008. He was born December 24, 1913 in Quesnel, B.C. Canada to Garrett & Jane (Dorr) Prichard. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard in 1932. Jean married Margaret Campbell on August 9, 1947 in Mount Vernon, Washington.A and Minnie Holmberg in April 1982 in Port Orchard. Jean owned a Shell Service Station in Port Orchard for 21 years, retiring in 1975. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 as a 1st Class Seaman in the South Pacific during World War II. Jean enjoyed his family, golf, gardening, his dog "BJ" and cat "Tony". He was a 50 year member of the Elks, a member of American Legion, Kiwanis, was Water Commissioner for Manchester, a Camp Fire Board member, Toastmaster, and member of golf & bowling leagues. Surviving are son Brian (Barbara) Prichard of Port Orchard; daughters Judy (Ralph Kleinfelter) Prichard of Manchester, Washington and Jan (Phil Golnik) Fortman-Golnik of Port Orchard; brother Kenneth Prichard of Manchester, Washington; sister Janice (Les) Davis of Wauna, Washington; grandchildren Ami Weight, Krissy Woodward, Jeanene Parker & Jeff Walker; & great-grandchildren Naomi & Sam Weight. He was preceded in death by both wives; brothers Don, Bob, George; sisters Patricia Ford, Rita Wolfer, & Kathy Christenson; and grandson Russell Fortman. Memorial service 3:00 pm on March 18, 2008 at Elks Lodge, 4131 Pine Rd, Bremerton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Washington Elks Therapy Program for Children, PO Box 110760, Tacoma WA 98411 or the Bremerton Elks Lodge.
