Jean Ries

Jean Helga Ries, 84, of Port Orchard, WA, died February 12, 2002, at Ridgemont Terrace Convelescent Center in Port Orchard.Jean was born September 16, 1917, in Conway, WA, to Richard and Eugenia (Engman) Lundberg. She attended Conway School and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, WA. She later graduated from business college in Seattle, WA.On September 14, 1940, Jean married Clyde A. Ries in Mt. Vernon.Jean worked most of her life as a homemaker. She belonged to NARFE and was a past member of the Sons of Norway. Jean loved to bowl with her husband and friends. She has been a long time member of Elim Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.Survivors include her husband, Clyde Ries, of Port Orchard; son Richard Ries, of Salem, OR; and daughter Diana Picknell, of Seattle, WA.Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 14, and Friday, February 15, from 9:00AM to 5:00PM at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. A graveside service will be on Saturday, February 16, 10:00AM at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. A memorial service will follow at 11:00AM at Elim Lutheran Church.
