Jeanette went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2016.
She was born and raised in St. Louis, MO where she married Sig Boegl at Ascension Lutheran Church in 1957. All three of her children were born in Colorado. Jonathan, who now lives in Kansas City, MO; James, on Bainbridge Island, WA; and Lisa in Santa Fe, NM. She also has three grandchildren: Caris in Oxford, England; Christi in Cleveland, TN and Nate at the University of Puget Sound, in Tacoma. She also has a sister, Eunice, in Champaign, IL.
Jeanette graduated from Lutheran High in St. Louis at age 16; then attended Harris State Teacher’s College, St. Louis, MO; Southeast Missouri State, Cape Girardeau; Washington University, Clayton, MO; and Evergreen State College, Olympia, WA.
In her early years Jeanette was both a parochial and public school teacher. Later in life, she became a social worker for the state of Washington. She was an active member of a number of Lutheran Churches; a devoted, long-time member of the Hood Canal Book Club; and ardent member of the League of Women Voters, where she served in many capacities, including two terms as President of the Mason County Chapter.
Jeanette loved all kinds of flowers; probably in part, because her father was a florist/farmer in St. Louis. She adored classical music, especially organ music, great choirs and J.S. Bach. She also loved to discuss notable events, both current and historical. Her happiest moments were in the company of her family and grandchildren.
Her family invites you to attend a Memorial Celebration of her life this Saturday, December 10th, at 1:30pm, at Faith Lutheran Church (7075 Pacific Ave., Lacey, WA). A lunch reception will follow.
If you care to make a gift in her memory, it may be designated to any of the following:
1.) Faith Lutheran Church, Lacey
2.) Lutheran High School South, St. Louis, MO
3.) Greyhound Pets International, Woodenville, WA
Checks made payable to “Faith Lutheran Church” will be distributed to the appropriate institution.
Thanks to all of you who prayed, gave, helped, loved and walked this journey with our family. We thank God for friends like you!
