Born on February 3, 1926 in Kellerton, Iowa to Earl A. and Beatrice McAninch Bayless, Jeanne Charlotte grew up in Torrington, Wyoming. After High School, Jeanne moved to the Pacific Northwest with her family, settling in Port Orchard, and working at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as an officer's secretary during the war years. Commuting each day to Bremerton on the foot ferries, she met Al Lieseke, owner and operater of Horluck Transportation Company. Jeanne and Al were married on April 21, 1946. Jeanne was a homemaker and devoted mother of four daughters. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Orchard, spent much time and many years with the Sidney Gallery as a founding member, and while her two youngest girls were in school, worked at Givens Elementary as a secretary to the principal. Throughout her life Jeanne enjoyed hiking, bicycling, skiing, French lessons and traveling extensively with her family and friends. Surviving are her daughters, Lana Brennan (Lanny Whittall) of Allyn, Marna Auclair (Kim) of Kennewick, Cynthia Basic (Charles) of Port Orchard, and Dana Lieseke of Everett. There are four grandchildren, Jason LeFave, Mica Grohn and Kris Auclair (Rebecca) and John Schulstad. She is also survived by a brother, Mac Bayless (Ann) and a sister, Marlene Bryce, as well as dearly loved nieces and nephews and their families. The family wishes to express special thanks to the Life Care Center of Port Orchard for the kind and loving care they provided. A celebration of life will be held at the Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, on the afternoon of April 19th from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of WA, 2625 Third Ave, Seattle, WA 98121.
