Jerome ''Jerry'' Darling, 79 of Port Orchard, died at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton on May 2, 2000. He was born in Brookfield, Missouri on January 15, 1921 to Sanford & Stella (Blakeley) Darling. Jerry was raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He married Valeria Belle Mawhiney in 1939 in Brookfield, Missouri.Mr. Darling retired from the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton in 1970 as a Machinist. He also work on the Grand Coulee Dam Project as a Machinist. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1945 on Guam as a Seaman First Class during World War II.Surviving are sons Errol Darling of Bremerton and Ron Darling of Arizona; daughter Linda Bigovich Green of Spokane, Washington; brothers Cyrus Darling of Allyn, Washington, Harold Darling of Yuma, Arizona, and Gale Darling of Kansas City, Missouri; sister Ruth Keisler of South Carolina; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife Stella in 1982 and daughter Sherry Monaghan in 1998.At Jerry's request there will be no services. Memorial Donations may be made to Animal Rescue Families, P. O.
