Jerry Brown

Jerry L. Brown of Bremerton, Washington died at Harrison Hospital July 31, 2005. He was 57. He was born in Bremerton, Washington October 29, 1947 to Herschel H. Brown and Edith R. (Wilder) Brown. Jerry graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 - 1970. He attained rank of corporal; and was stationed in Germany. He was a Sharp Shooter; and, was awarded the National Defense ribbon. Jerry worked as a painter for 10 years at Bangor and the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a private contractor. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Port Orchard. Jerry enjoyed fishing, logging, camping. He had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed working in the woods, falling trees, and landscaping. A favorite passion was fishing - you might find him in a small, quiet pond in the wee hours in the morning or on a shoreline on his way home from work. If the fish were biting, Jerry was there. He is survived by brothers - Richard Brown of Port Orchard, Washington; Arnold Brown of Seattle, Washington; Howard Brown of Belfair, Washington; Lance Brown of Gorst, Washington; Michael Brown of Bremerton, Washington; sisters - Linda Bourne of Bremerton, Washington and Carol Larson (Greg) of Silvedale, Washington; and by special friends - Gene Keene of Bremerton, Washington. Jerry was preceded in death by: grandmothers - Maggie Wilder and Lucy Foster; and, by brother - Herschel Brown. A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday August 5, 2005 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Port Orchard, Washington.
