Jesse Smith

Jesse W. Smith, age 92, died April 20, 2000 in Bremerton, WA. He was born March 21, 1908 in Stranton, KS to Edward and Hatie (Markley) Smith. He worked as a logger in Idaho, and section 9 with the railroad. Most recently he was employed at the Washington Veterans Home at Retsil, WA., where he worked in the janitorial department before retiring in the 1980's.Mr. Smith was an artist, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and making jewelry. He is survived by his sons Floyd Smith of Poulson, MT., Joseph Smith of Silver Springs, NV., stepdaughter Marlene Malone of Plattsmouth, NB., brother Elvin Smith of Poulson, MT. He is preceded in death by his wife Zona, daughter Elizabeth Cann, and sister Opal McNiell. Visitation will be at Rill Chapel April 24, from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be April 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Rill Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Lane Cemetery.
