Jo Porter

Jo Ella Porter, 71, a resident of Port Orchard died on May 28, 2010 of complications from Alzheimer’s disease, surrounded by her family. She was born June 24, 1938 in Port Townsend to Marvin and Irma (Martinson) Morris. Jo attended Port Townsend HS and married Gordon Alan Porter on December 10, 1955 in Port Townsend. He preceded her in death in 2004.  She retired from the US Postal Service as a Rural Letter Carrier and also worked for Hewlett Packard as an Assembly Line Supervisor. Jo was a cat lover and an avid reader that loved to travel as well.  She is survived by her son Brian Porter (Rebecca) of Port Orchard; daughters Jodi Anderson of SC and Denise Denney (Jerry) of Port Orchard; brothers Albert ‘Skip’ Morris (Delia) of Marysville, Max Plattner, Jr. ( Michelle ) of Port Townsend and Jess Morris (Rhonda); sisters Nancy Maroldo (Danny) of Bremerton, Kristy Billingslea of VA and Becky Pritchard (Doug) of Port Orchard; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
