Jo Rivas

Jo E. Rivas of Port Orchard, Washington died May 14, 2004 at Life Care Center in Port Orchard. She was 68. She was born October 16, 1935 in Montebello, California to Richard and Viola (Callaway) Bender. Jo married Jess Rivas in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1955. She graduated from Huntington beach High School in Huntington Beach, California in 1953. She was a homemaker. Jo enjoyed reading the Bible - loved the Word of God. She was a member of Olalla Bible Church and taught Sunday School. Jo is survived by sons - Tony Rivas (& wife, Heidi) of Olympia, Washington, Joel Rivas (& wife, Amy) of Gig Harbor, Washington; daughters - Kim Kitabjian of Murietta, California, Anna Nanfito (& husband, Tim) of Olalla, Washington; brothers - Jim Bender, Anahiem, California, John Bender of Huntington Beach, California; sisters - Bobbie Anderson of Roseville, California, Margaret Bickford of Long Beach, California, Rachael Anderson of Port Orchard, Washington; 8 grandchildren (Renee, Linda, Kylie, Sarah, Laura, Megan, Benicio, Carlos); 7 great-grandchildren (Christofer, Annaluka, Nolan, Sammy, Micah, Timothy, Hannah). She was preceded in death by: brothers - Don, Paul, Chuck and sister - Mary. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 21, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Fraola Cemetery.
