Joan T. Bishop, 62, of Allyn, Washington died December 29, 2006 at her home of bone and breast cancer. She was born June 15, 1944 in Ogden, Utah. Joan was raised by her parents Clarence and Ann Taylor. She graduated from Davis County High in Clarefield, Utah in 1962 and then from Weber State College in Ogden in 1964. Joan married Richard C. Bishop on January 27, 1978 in Layton, Utah. Earlier in her life she was a cosmetologist. For the past 20 years she ran a business called "Joan's Picture Perfect Lace" from her home in which she wholesaled LDS Temples in lace. Joan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Belfair, Washington. She played the piano and harp. Joan sewed and made quilts for many humanatarian projects. She also made baby receiving blankets and gave them away to expectant mothers. Joan was preceded in death by her brother Robert Taylor. She is survived by her husband Richard C. Bishop of Allyn, Washington; sons, Joe (Kim) Bishop of West Richland, Washington and David (Stacie) Huffaker of Portland, Oregon; daughter, Tina (Ryan) Preece of Spanaway, Washington; brother, Steve (Shirley) Taylor of Richmond, Virginia; sister, Nancy (Ron) Ford of Lake Powell, Utah; and 5 grandchildren, Ragan, Corey and Brenna Bishop and Tynan and Paige Preece. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2006 from 10:00AM to 12:00 Noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 40 E. Belwood Lane, Allyn, Washington at the Victor Cutoff Road. A funeral will follow at 12:00 Noon at the church. Burial will be Saturday, January 6 at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch in Ogden, Utah.
