Joan Lang

July 19, 1926 — July 4, 2010

Joan Lang, 83, long time resident of Port Orchard WA died peacefully in the early morning on July 4, 2010.  Joan was born July 19, 1926 in Chemainus British Columbia to James and Jesse Spencer.  She moved to Seattle Washington in 1958 with her family and Port Orchard WA in 1972.    Joan was a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and took great pride and joy in maintaining her home and providing a place for her family to gather and share.   She was a Breast Cancer survivor and wore her little pink wrist band to always remind her of her own strength and the shared connection with other survivors and their families. For many years Joan was an active Soroptimist at a branch here in Port Orchard  and a Medical Office Manager at the EEG lab in the Sheridan Medical Clinic in Bremerton WA .  She always loved to dance and was an avid reader for many years.  Joan was preceded in death by her son James (Jim) Lang, of Port Orchard in 2003 and her Grandaughter Jessica Laramore of Littleton Colorado in 2002.  She is survived by her brother James Spencer of Port Alberni BC Canada and her sister Eleanor Veitch of Victoria BC Canada and their families; daughter Lesley Rockney and son Daniel Lang and his wife Patricia Lang of Port Orchard WA;  Grandchildren, Christine Rockney-Sidhu, Lori Willson, Corinna  De Angel , and David Lang.  Great Grandchildren, Alexandra Laramore, Austin Rockney, Savannah Sidhu, and Ella De-Angel.  Her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren brightened her world and her life for the last 45 years.  A private family gathering will be held in Victoria BC Canada.   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a Breast Cancer Organization of your choice.   Online memorial at www.rill.com
