John Marshall Caldwell started his life as a young country boy and ended his life as a southern gentleman and a Tarheel. He lived his life to the fullest as many family members and friends can attest to. John was alot of things to alot of people but the job he excelled at the most was being Granddaddy to his grandchildren, Carol Ann, Rebecca Lynne and, of course, Roger Marshall. They were the light of his life. He took his grandchildren whenever he could. He also took many adventurous trips with them. His grandchildren and daughter, Debra Kay, will always remember and cherish the life lessons that he has taught them. They will miss him dearly. He loved fishing and hunting and shared this love for the outdoors with everyone. He also loved to travel. He especially loved going on trips to Argentina, Mexico, and Alaska. He always came back with new exciting stories and lots of pictures that he cherished and wanted to share. To everyone that has been with us through this very difficult time, we want to offer our heart felt thanks. GO TARHEELS!!
