John William Dombrock Sr.

John William Dombrock Sr., affectionately known as Willie, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, in Gig Harbor, Washington, surrounded by his loving family. Willie is survived by his loving wife Donna, his son John (Heidi), daughters Tracy, Keri (Wayne), Kelley (Martin), Sheila (Andre), and sister Annette. He leaves behind 16 cherished grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and his sweet brown dog, Rosie.

Born on March 7, 1949, in St. Croix, Wisconsin, to Harold and Irene Dombrock, Willie spent his formative years in Minnesota and San Diego before settling in Washington in 1991. Throughout his career, he worked as a maintenance mechanic for EJB and Johnson Controls, where he gained a reputation as a skilled jack-of-all-trades as he could fix almost anything!

Upon retirement, Willie found solace and joy in his woodshop crafting beautiful creations for friends and family. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to his yard, camping with family (once he arrived), or attending any event related with his grandchildren.

Willie was preceded in death by his father Harold, mother Irene, brother Sonny, sister Lios, first wife Brenda, and grandson Brandon.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Willie will be held on May 6th at 3 p.m. at Long Lake Park, 5100 Long Lake Road SE, Port Orchard, WA 98366. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Willie taught us all so many things, his life was a testament to his values of faith, family, education, and above all hard work. He believed that family extended beyond blood relations and embraced all whom he chose to love and cherish. Willie's genuine warmth and love knew no bounds; he was adored by all who knew him. His unique spirit and remarkable character made him truly OUTSTANDING!
