John Hegg

John A. "Pappy" Hegg died September 20, 2003 at the family home. He died peacefully after short battle with cancer. He was 72.He was born February 21, 1931 in Fisher, Minnesota to Joseph and Hannah (Helgeson) Hegg.He married Crucita (Lospoc) Hegg December 18, 1964 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She preceded him in death in 1997.John earned a GED while in the U.S. Navy.He served in the U.S.Army/U.S. Navy (Army 8/50 to 8/57; Navy 1/59 to 7/71). He achieved rank of E-6 Engineman First Class.He worked as a Marine Machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 9 years; and, at Bangor for 8 years. He worked 17 years - retiring in 1988.He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association; VFW Bremerton; was an avid reader, amateur historian.John was a member of the Lutheran Church.John was survived by sons - Michael Salindron (& wife, Gloria) of Maui, Hawaii; David Hegg of Richland, Washington; Joseph Hegg (& wife, Lisa) of Port Orchard; John Hegg (& wife, Peggy) of Pueblo, Colorado; daughter - Georgia Carlson(& husband, John) of Port Orchard; brothers - Clifford Hegg of Crookston, MN; Richard Hegg (& wife, Annette) of Crookston, MN; sisters - Alice Stout of Crookston, MN; Audry Wieland (& husband, Don) of Crookston, MN; Joyce Hegg of Grand Forks, North Dakota; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.A visitation will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington on September 27, 2003 from noon until 4:00 p.m..A funeral service will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center on September 27, 2003 at 4:00 p.m.Memorial Donations may be made to:American Diabetes AssociationWasington Affiliate, Inc.PMB 2028205 E.
