John W. Jacobsen, 68, died at his home in Port Orchard, Washington on October 28, 2000. He was born in Tyler, Minnesota on October 11, 1932 to Theodore & Louise (Johansen) Jacobsen. He graduated from Puyallup High School in 1950 and attended the University of Puget Sound in Seattle Washington. John married Carolyn Diane Bithell. She preceded him in death in 1984.Mr. Jacobsen worked for 31 years for Boeing Aircraft, retiring in 1990 as an Engineer. John served during the Korean War in the United States Army as a Private 1st Class from 1951 to 1953. He was interested in wooden boats and aviation. Surviving are sons Mark D. Jacobsen of Port Orchard and John T. Jacobsen of Silverdale, Washington; brothers Kenneth Jacobsen of Alberqurque, New Mexico and Louis Jacobsen of San Antonio, Texas; sister Alta Reed of Everett, Washington; and 1 grandchild. He was preceded in death by sister Osma.A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, November 9, 2000 at 1:00pm at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.
