John Mcree

John McRee was born in Exeter, Calif. to John and Eyvonne McRee. He graduated from San Mateo High School in California and attended LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. After serving in the U.S. Navy he joined the Kitsap County Sheriff's Department in 1970. John became a detective and was promoted to Sergeant in 1982. After retiring in 1993, he worked for Kitsap County Superior Court for five years and in 2000 joined the courthouse security staff where he was still employed. John was passionate about the people and hobbies he loved. He was committed to the Lord and served as a board member at Christian Life Center. He was also active in many other church ministries. He was a loving grandpa who attended as many games, tournaments, recitals and practices as he could. He and his wife, Faye, enjoyed opening their home to family and friends. John was always up for a cup of coffee and was known to say his favorite cookies were the round ones. He was deeply loved by his wife, children and grandkids and will be greatly missed. John is survived by his wife, Faye, of 27 years, a son, two daughters, four granddaughters, his mother and brother in California and extended family. Donations can be made to Seattle Union Gospel Mission. Memorial service at Christian Life Center in Port Orchard at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 22.
