John Pedersen

Mr. John Gilbert Pedersen, Age: 72, died of long term heart complications on July 9, 2001, at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. Mr. Pedersen had been a resident of Port Orchard for fourty five years.He was born September 22, 1928, in Tacoma, Washington to John and Freida(Townsend) Pedersen.He graduated from Bates Technical School in 1971 as a Machinist.Mr. Pedersen was a Machinist with Lockheed, retiring in 1971. He was also a self employed Mechanic.Mr. Pedersen enjoyed hunting and fishing.He is survived by his companion, Jo Ann Small of Port Orchard; Son Randy of Port Orchard; Daughters Julie Pedersen of Bremerton and Jennine Knight of Port Orchard; a step-sister, Joann Ganton of Kennewick; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jon Dee ''Jody'' Pedersen in 1972.A memorial service will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2001, at the home of his daughter, Jennine Knight. The address is 902 Cline Avenue, Port Orchard.Cremation is under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home located at Rill Chapel.Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Washington, Post Office Box 84088, Seattle, Washington, 98124.
