John Thomas Rogers John Thomas Rogers was born in Belmont, North Carolina on July 14, 1927 to Edward A. and Ada (Connell) Rogers. John attended Berry Hill High School in Belmont and went on to North Carolina State University attaining a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aeronautics. He served the Armed Forces as an officer in the flight programs of the United States Navy, Army and Air Force. He married the love of his life Louise Johnson in January of 1952 and they had two children. John was a loving and devoted husband and father that always put others first. Rogers worked for NASA at Edwards Air Force Base in California for ten years. he also worked as an Aeronautics engineer for Boeing for 31 years retiring from there in 1989. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, home projects, carpentry and the great outdoors. He is survived by his wife Louise; son Dale (Marci) Rogers of Puyallup; daughter Carol (Larry) Overland of Sumner; brother Robert (Peggy) Rogers of Charlotte, NC and grandchildren Lindsay and Sarah Rogers of Puyallup. John went to be with the Lord on April 22nd. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on Monday, April 28th at 10:00 AM.
