Ron, as he was known by, was born to John W. and Nina Hull on April 23, 1946 in Bremerton. He was the oldest of three boys. After school, Ron followed his older cousin Greg’s lead and joined the Navy in 1966. Ron planned to be a submariner but discovered the world of Navy Salvage Diving while stationed on his first ship the USS Proteus. Ron found his niche in diving and became a career sailor. Ron worked his way rapidly through the ranks. He was selected for advancement to Master Chief and was also offered a commission as an Officer. Ron accepted the commission and joined the elite group of the “Mustang” Officers. Ron was a proud Navy Diver and Officer.
Ron met and married his first wife Kathie in 1970 and had two children; Kristy and John. His family followed him through his career while he was stationed at Guam, San Diego, Connecticut and Hawaii before his retirement from the Navy.
Ron eventually moved back to Washington after his service to be near family. His daughter Kristy and his first grandson Christopher soon followed him and settled here. Soon after, Ron met his current wife Deanne and gained a step-son Adam.
Ron became a grandfather again when his son John and wife Laura had a son, Nat. Kristy and her husband Leon had another boy, Bryce. Adam and his wife Randi have a baby daughter Lana.
Ron loved and adored all his grandchildren and loved to build toys and project with them. Ron was very handy with tools and was always there to help with projects for friends and family. Ron was multi-talented and was always active and working on something.
Ron loved boats and ships and eventually owned his own Tugboat. Ron loved hiking and deep sea fishing. He was an avid motorcycle rider and loved taking his family to Mexico for camping and motorcycle riding when they lived in San Diego. He always had a passion for Off Roading and was could often be found working on his big yellow Jeep.
