John A Schrader

June 2, 1932 — July 13, 2013

John was born June 2, 1932 in Redford, Michigan. He had two older brothers and one younger. He started working as a teenager on the Great Lakes and finished his career when he retired from Keyport Torpedo Station. In between this time he honorably served his country during the Korean war from 1949 to 1953. In 1961 he married Sharon Schrader. Sharon predeceased him in 2008 after 47 years of marriage.

John led a full life; he was a Shriner Clown and Past Master Mason of his lodge. He grew up in the Golden Age of Hollywood. He loved going to the movies as well as collecting them at home. He was a generous man and is beloved by friends and family alike. He was an active and generous member of the North Bay Luthern Community Church.

In 2010 John and Vi Nall were married. Vi was his wife and companion for the last 2-1/2 years of his life. They filled a void for each other that was created by the lost of their first spouse.

John passed away in the early morning hours of July 14, 2013. His passing was gentle and his countenance was peaceful.

John is survived by his children John Scott (Chere) and Vicki Sharon (Jerry) and his grandchildren Devin (Devin wife of Devin), Brandi, Kyle, Madison, Tyler and Bailey. Stuart, the youngest, is the only surviving brother. Unfortunately he did not live to see the birth of Bailey as she is due this coming November.

In lieu of flowers John would have preferred donations to his beloved church.
