John David Schwab Sr., 63, of Port Orchard, Washington, died January 9, 2003 in Manchester. He was born June 11, 1939 to John Peter & Hannah (Kelln) Schwab in Sanger, California.Mr. Schwab was in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He then served an apprentiship at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard- working 20 years and retired in 1999 as a Marine Electrican.Mr. Schwab loved camping, boating, fishing, gardening and photography. He was a member of South Kitsap Soggy Sams Camping Club. He was also known for his pie baking and his easy going disposition.Survivors include his wife Mary Schwab of Port Orchard;Sons- Mike Schwab & wife Pam; John D. Schwab Jr. & wife Wendy; Eric Schwab & wife Teri; Dale Schwab & wife Sandy; Stepson- David Dyess & wife Schelley; all of Kitsap County. Step son Chris Dyess & wife Heike of Virginia; and step daughter Bobbi Smith & husband Matt of Kent. 15 Grandchildren and former wife Joyce Schwab. Mr. Schwab was preceded in death by a sister-Esther and brother- Walter.Memorial Services will be 2pm Wednesday, January 15th at Rill Chapel. A Reception will follow in the Rill Chapel Hospitality Room.
