John Michael Walberg, 63, of Port Orchard, died December 3, 2012 at Kitsap County Hospice House in Bremerton. John was born December 21, 1948 in Bremerton to James & Juanita (May) Walberg. He was baptized at Our Saviors Lutheran and conformed at Bethany Lutheran where he was a long time member. He attended South Kitsap HS where he played on the football team and graduated in the class of 1967. In his early years he worked in California as a central office technician for the telephone company. After moving back to Port Orchard he worked as a furnace technician, Carpenter and all around Handy Man. John was a science fiction buff, an avid fisherman and enjoyed pencil & ink drawings. He also loved teaching children how to fish at Lutherhaven Bible Camp. Survivors include his Mother – Juanita, 2 Sisters – Cathy (Larry) Sharrett and Terry Brock, four nephews, one niece, one great nephew, one great niece and a loving dog Cheech. John was preceded in death by his Father – James and Niece Brianna Brock Carlson. Services will be 1pm Tuesday December 11th at Bethany Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.
