John Wolfe

John C. Wolfe, 72, of Port Orchard, WA, died April 6, 2003 at the Port Orchard Care Center.He was born August 19, 1930 in Anamosa, Iowa, to Pete and Ida Wolfe.He married Margaret (Williams) Wolfe. She preceded him in death in 1989.John served in the U.S. Marines for 6 years. During his military career, he was a Golden Glove boxer.John worked as a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 15 plus years. He was also a bartender. He drove school bus for South Kitsap School District. John loved to drive the high school football team to away games on Friday nights.John volunteered at Ridgemont Terrace and was active in youth sports. He played golf and enjoyed watching his grandsons play T-Ball and soccer.He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.John is survived by sons - Dan Wolfe and Russell Wolfe - both of Port Orchard, Washington; daughter - Rebecca Harness of Port Orchard, Washington; 1 brother; 3 grandchildren (Cody Wolfe, Bryce Wolfe, Paich Harness).A memorial service will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center at 3:00 p.m. on Friday April 11, 2003.Memorial donations may be made to:SK Southern Little League, Attn: Jackie Underwood, PO Box 86, Olalla, WA 98359.
