JONICA MARIE SMITH, 43, passed away the evening of January 28, 2015, in Bremerton, WA.
Born October 21, 1971, in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Born to Rickey Lee Smith and Linda Marie Shinn.
Jonica Smith grew up in Rathdrum, ID.
Jonica Marie Smith graduated from Eton college, in Port Orchard, WA in 2003. She specialized in the Medical Billing field and went on to pursue a career in Medical business and insurance coding. She discovered the perfect job at Seattle Childrens hospital, in 2014. It was a new start in life for her. It became very long days for her, traveling from Bremerton to Seattle including and hour ride each way on the ferry, but she loved her job and all of her co-workers. She was very happy there.
She loved beadwork; making many beautiful artistic jewelry pieces. It was a true passion for her.
Along her life’s path she became the mother of 4 beautiful children:

Jonica is survived by her mother, Linda Shinn Davis, step-fathers Donald Davis & Kirby Johnston; grandmother Ellen Davidson of CA; sister Erika Smith of Post Falls, ID, brother Brandon Johnston of Spearfish, SD; Aunts Dot Lieberman and Teresa Collins of CA; uncles Mathew, Mark and Aaron Shinn of OR and step-grandmother Gloria Matheny of OR and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was given the gift of 5 beautiful grandchildren:
Wyatt, Ruger, Elena, Eli and Alanna.
A Celebration of Jonica Marie Smith’s life is being held at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center, 1151 Mitchell Ave, Port Orchard, WA at 2:00 pm Monday, February 2nd. Viewing will begin at 1:00pm. Reception following the memorial.
Jonica Marie Smith is proceeded in death by Ricky Lee Smith, Grandfather Homer James Shinn, Grandfather Arnold Davidson, Grandparents Jack and Mary Smith, and Uncle Jim Shinn.
