Jose' V. Maza, 78, of Bremerton, WA, died February 1, 2004, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton. Jose' was born October 9, 1925, in Rosales, Pangasinan, Philippines, to Alejandro and Trinidad (Vergara) Maza. He married Angelina (Buen) Maza on January 2, 1976, in Manila, Philippines. Jose' worked at the Washington State Veteran's Home in Retsil, WA, in food service before working as a journeyman electrician for 6 years at Todd Shipyard in Seattle until 1982. He then worked at a strawberry/raspberry farm owned by Leo Mayo in Port Orchard, WA. Jose' loved to take care of his garden at home, where he was also a handyman and inventor. He danced the Tango and Cha Cha. His memberships included the Pacific Northwest Ilocandia Association, past member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, and current member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton. Jose' is survived by his wife Angelina Maza, of Bremerton; son Joseph S. Maza, of Seattle, WA; daughter Joan B. Maza Attridge and husband Robert, of Bremerton; sisters Fe' Jacinto, of the Philippines, Paz Smith, of Port Orchard, Luz Simmons, of Seattle, Sol Sipin, of New York, NY, Filipinas Halili, of Seattle, and Evangeline Daza, of Seattle. He was preceded in death by an infant brother Roy Maza. Viewing will be Friday, February 6, 9AM to 5PM, and Saturday, February 7, 3PM to 5PM at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. A rosary will start at 5PM at Rill Chapel. A funeral mass will be Sunday, February 8, 2004, at 1:30PM at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with burial following at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
