Joseph Blazevich Sr.

Joe Blazevich, Sr.,70, of Port Orchard and formerly of Seattle, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 15, 2012. He died on the feast of St. Albert, the great scientist.

Joe was born on May 6, 1942to the late Stephen and Julia Blazevich in Seattle, WA. He graduated from O'Dea H.S., and from Seattle U., attained his PhD from U of I & OSU and did post doctoral work at SFU. For his career, he became one of the EPA Region 10 leaders and was active in Knights of Columbus.

He loved the sciences, excelled to the highest level of academics and in his field of work as a chemist. He was a devoted Catholic father. Joe’s memory will live on with his lifelong sweetheart of 47 years, MaryAnn; children Carol Ann, Maria, Mark and Joe; and two grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass is Wednesday, November 21 at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard. Viewing is at 10 a.m., rosary at 10:30 a.m. Reception at St. Gabriel's will follow the burial at Sunset Lane Cemetery.
