Joseph Howard Morgan, 86, died March 1, 2005 at the Washington Veterans Home in Retsil, Washington. He was born February 26, 1919 in Irwin, Iowa to Joseph Harlan & Elizabeth Ann (Paden) Morgan. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in Albert Lea, Minnesota in 1938. Joseph worked as a Rigger at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and also as a Tugboat Captain. He served in the U.S. Navy as a BM1 for 16 years during World War II and the Korean War. He earned the American Defense Star, Philippine Defense Medal, Asiatic Pacific 4 Star Medal, American Area Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the VFW in Bremerton, Washington. Joseph loved fishing; rode motorcycles in earlier years; thoroughly enjoyed eating; and enjoyed being with his nephews especially when they were teenagers. Suviving are sister Bonnie & husband Tony Hanson of Covington, Washington; nephew Bruce & wife Marie Waldron of Port Orchard; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 6, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Graveside Service will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 1:00 pm.
