Joseph H. Rudd died at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington May 7, 2003. He was 80.He was born in St. Anthony, Idaho June 25, 1922 to Joseph H. and Harriett Virginia (Bean) Rudd.He graduated from St. Anthony High School in St. Anthony, Idaho in 1940.He graduated from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon in 1950.Joseph married Frances G. (Glibert) Rudd June 9, 1950 in Portland, Oregon.He served in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1946.He worked as an architect for his own firm, Rudd & Associates in Portland, Oregon; later in his career he was a pioneer in the advancement of Design/Build Services for his clients. He retired in 1990 after forty years.His interests in earlier years were with family, camping and fishing; in later years he enjoyed golfing and traveling; learned how to paint in Italy; was a member of the AIA; served as a member of the Planning Committee in Vancouver, Washington.Joseph is survived by son - Bruce Rudd of Issaquah, Washington; daughters - Diane Meads of Saranac Lake, New York; Laura Mikkelborg of Poulsbo, Washington; sister - Vilate Allen of Layton, Utah; 5 grandchildren: Ian Rudd, Sierra and Mariah Meads, Collin and Sarah Mikkelborg.There will be no service.Memorial donations may be made to:American Lung Association of Washington2625 Third Ave.Seattle, WA 98121
