Joyce Mulvenna passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, August 22, 2015, after a prolonged illness.
She is survived by her loving husband William; sons Richard and Michael; grandson Matthew; daughter-in-law Pamela; and many friends.
Joyce was born and raised in Akita, Japan in 1934 and came to the United States in 1956. She soon met her husband William and they were married in Mystic, Connecticut.
Her greatest joy in life was family. She took pride in motherhood and believed it to be the most important work one could do. Joyce had very high expectations and unconditional love for her 2 sons and grandson. She instilled core values and commitment to family, education and community. She learned to master the English language and was offered many teaching positions at community colleges. Joyce will be forever missed and loved by all who knew her.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 2:15 pm at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
