Joyce Edward Thomes, 77 a beloved husband and father passed away on March 30, 2025
Born to Jessie "Snow" Thomes and Mother Florence Thomes, both preceding him in death. Joyce had two sisters, Betsy Thomes and Irene Golden and three brothers Jessie Thomes, Phillip Thomes and Jonathan(Geri) Thomes. also preceding him in death.
Joyce graduated from West High School Class of 1966. He married Linda Lewis in 1968-1990 they have a daughter Joyce Lynnell. Joyce began employment with Pacific Northwest Bell right out of high school making him the first black person to work for them in Kitsap County. He served in the United States Navy for three years to return to his job working as a PBX installer for 30 years. Joyce married Noeli Aragon in August 1991. She was by his side when he passed. Joyce loved sports, fishing, boxing, football, etc. He played softball with friends for years, he loved listening to music, going to concerts, going to the casino and eating out with family. He was a great cook, and loved his breakfast. He was a loving, smart, hardworking, funny, discerning, thoughtful man. He cared about people, he didn't mind helping out anyone. He had such a lively, happy, jovial personality that lit up any room or place he went. He touched everyone he was around in such positive ways. He was a very brave man. He will forever be loved and in our hearts. Joyce is survived by his wife, Noeli, his daughter Joyce Lynnell and son-in-law Jay; sisters, Jacqueline Willis (Bob) and Doshie Thomes, Noemi Becker(Jerry) Norine Partida (Flavio) Brothers, Noe Aragon, Noel Aragon (Mindy) and George Aragon and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
