Port Orchard

Judith “Judy” Lynn Dufresne, 82, passed away peacefully at home on March 13 th , 2025, surrounded by family, her most treasured belongings, and the beautiful view she cherished.

Born on July 13, 1942, in Tacoma Washington, to Clarence and Elma Clark, Judy grew up in Fircrest alongside her younger sister, Toni. Judy enjoyed an active childhood in a neighborhood full of young families. She attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from Aquinas Academy in 1960.

Judy was a vibrant, loving, and devoted mother to her four children: Todd, Jeff, Chris and Noelle. Her eldest sons, Todd and Jeff were both taken too soon and Judy carried the pain of those losses with her till the end. Now, she is reunited with them in heaven.

A dedicated worker from a young age, Judy’s first job was at The Fircrest Variety Store. While raising her children, she was actively involved in her community. Her professional career spanned many years in the medical field before she transitioned to a 25-year tenure at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a program analyst, retiring in 1999.

After a decade - long romance, Judy married, Lou Dufresne, December 1st 2000, blending their families and welcoming Lou’s children, Kim and Eric into her heart. Judy and Lou had many adventures over the years. A lot of traveling and countless gatherings at their beautiful home on Beach Drive. In recent years they enjoyed daily visits to Uncle Dave’s Café and the Port Orchard VFW where they would gather with friends, sharing stories, food and a fine bourbon.

Judy’s friendships were deep and enduring, with bonds stretching back to her Holy Rosary and Aquinas days. She cherished those lifelong connections and maintained them until the very end. She will be sincerely missed.

Judy loved to tend her beautiful garden with Lou, and was a wonderful cook. In her younger years, she enjoyed skiing and you could have seen her boating on the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands more than once!

Judy is survived by a large family: Husband, Lou Dufresne, her sister Toni Clark (Richard Bell), and her children Chris Jolibois, Noelle McPherson (Shea McPherson), Kim Martins (Mike Martins), and Eric Dufresne (Holly Dufresne).

Her grandchildren include Talia Vandegrift, Regan Bradwell (Cecil Goodson), Morgan Bradwell (Ericsson Lusuegro), River Thaden, Alex Jolibois (Gracie Jolibois), Celine Jolibois, Judy Jolibois, Ellie McPherson, Jared McPherson (Camila McPherson), Katie Martins, Ryan Dufresne (Amber Dufresne), and Kayla Dufresne.
