Judith "Judie" Ann was born in San Francisco, California to Edward and Irene (Krauss) Surby on March 2, 1939. Judie attended San Mateo High School where she was a very good student and maintained very good grades.
She moved to the Pacific Northwest and worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as Managerial Assistant predominantly in the Nuclear Test Codes. After her retirement she began her own business helping people attain their goals through her writing skills. She owned and operated a resume writing business that truly did help people get promotions as she was able to help them explain their abilities and accomplishments in power terms that many folks had difficulty putting in writing.
She met James Talley and on April 5, 1977 they were married. James and Judie have celebrated 43 years of marriage.
Judie was a voracious reader and had four Kindles filled with books and when she tried to purchase a fifth Kindle in 2013, she was told she could not have one because of programming propriety.
She loved flowers of all kinds but roses of any variety were her favorite. She also loved to travel and she and James circled the United States 17 or 18 times by car visiting family and friends along the away. She would also stop at the local casinos as she loved gaming and rarely ever lost.
She passed away on December 19, 2020.
Judie is survived by her loving husband, James Talley; four children Franklin, John, Mike and Sharon; Sister Mary Ellen Young; Brother Robert Edward Surby; step-daughters Cherie and Cindy, 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
