Judy Travis of Port Orchard died December 10th, 2002 of complications due to breast cancer.Judy was born in Boise, Idaho to Ken E. and Opal Smith on December 22nd, 1940. She spent her early years in the Boise area, moving with her young family to western Washington in 1967. She worked in the X-ray Department at Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, Washington, from 1980 until her retirment in 1999.Judy enjoyed travel and had seen the majority of the states in the union and eleven countries throughout the world. She had a special affinity for cats. She always believed that when she went to heaven, she would have the care and feeding of all of the cats who had been her companions on earth.Judy is survived by husband, Ray Travis, and mother, Opal Smith; her son and his wife, Thomas and Charlyne Travis; her daughter and her husband, Kateri and William Swears; granddaughters Trina Savage and Alexandra Swears. Also surviving her are uncle, Joseph Meyers and special cousins Elizabeth Meyer, Joseph Meyers and Nicolas Meyers.At her request, no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to the American Cancer Foundation.
