Judy Dougherty

Judy "NY Judy" Dougherty of Port Orchard, WA, died October 25, 2003, at her son's home in Poulsbo, WA.Judy was born in Manhattan, NY, to Philip and Julia (Fitzgerald) Grauer. She later married Michael Joseph Dougherty on May 8, 1943, in New York.Judy loved to travel and was very proud of her Irish background. She enjoyed conversation and shopping. Much of her time was devoted to volunteer work at both St. Gabriel Catholic Church and St. Vincent dePaul. For a while, Judy lived in Subic Bay in the Philippines.Survivors include her son Michael Dougherty and his wife Ellen, of Poulsbo, WA; daughter Diane McGuire and her husband John, of New York; a sister Dorothy O'Toole, of New York; 9 grandchildren, Susann Duffy, Marjoriann Pietrera, Julianne Brown, Michael Stevens, Mickey Dougherty, Christine Dougherty, Colin Dougherty, Sean Dougherty, and Kian Dougherty; and 4 great grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by her husband Michael in 1983, a son Michael Dennis Dougherty in 1997, a daughter Susan Stevens in 1995, and 2 sisters Vee Matthes and Pinkie Saverese.A Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 27, 2003, 1:00 PM, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
