She was the radiant center of our family, a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her. She had a heart made of butterfly wings, the spirit of a warrior, and she would give the world to her loved ones. She has been through moments darker than midnight, but it has only served to make her stronger, smarter and fiercely resilient. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unyielding grace. She was one of the kindest souls.

Karen Zapata was a woman of strength and vision. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business, embodying a lifelong commitment to learning and excellence. But her greatest accomplishments were found in the lives she touched—her children, her grandson, and everyone blessed to cross her path.
