Katherene Ann Phillips

Katherene “Kitti” Elizabeth Ann Phillips, 72 of Port Orchard, died August 17, 2012.  She was born February 23, 1940 in Tulsa, OK to Charles & Delma (McKeever) Russell.  She graduated from Tacoma General in 1961 with a Registered Nursing diploma. Katherene worked as a nurse for 22 years at Retsil Veran’s Home.  She held several nursing positions including charge nurse and Director of Nursing in the Port Orchard and Tacoma areas.  She served 9 years as a School Board Director for South Kitsap and was involved in Rainbows in her younger years.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading & gardening. Surviving are son Charles (Dyann) Phillips of Port Orchard; daughter Kymberly Phillips of Port Orchard; grandchildren Kevin, Zachary, Aiden & Noah Phillips; nephew & nieces Jacob, Marcela & Breayn Bussell.  She was preceded in death by sister Merri L. Bussell. Memorial Service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Retsil Chapel, Washington State Veterans Home, Retsil , WA.  Online memorial at www.rill.com
