Kathleen Ruth Everist passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 6th, 2023, she was 80 years old, just 11 days shy of her 81st birthday.
She was born on March 17th, 1942 in Trinidad, Colorado to Willis J. Everist and Ruth D. Everist (Weisel). She attended South Kitsap High School, graduating with the class of 1960.
Being the 2nd oldest of 7 children, Kathie was the eldest girl. She was a mother to her siblings, and she cared about them deeply. Kathie was beautiful, kind, popular, musical, a loving mother, sister, friend and very brave. She was a talented seamstress and quilter, making many memory quilts for those she loved.
She was the family matriarch, binding everyone together with her unconditional love. She was a wonderful role model to our family and will be missed for the rest of our lives.
Kathie is survived by her daughter, Michele Moen, sons; Brian (Elly) Moen and Steve (Brenda) Moen, grandchildren; Brandon Holmes, Dylan Oneil, Kendal Hammond, Kaliya Moen, Xanth Moen and Trey Moen. Also survived by her sisters; Debbie (Dennis) Grayson, Janice (Jim) Johnsen and Jeannie Everist, brother Jim (Kathleen) Everist and numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Ruth, sister Anne and brother Gary.
Kathie was a diehard Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks fan, and never missed the chance to watch “her boys” play. In her honor, please wear your Seattle sports team attire.
