Kathleen Landram

October 27, 1921 — June 12, 2002

Kathleen M. Landram, age 80, of Belfair, Washington passed away at her home on Sunset Beach, Hood Canal June 12, 2002. She was the only daughter of Glenn and Eilleen Wallace of Tacoma, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Landram and oldest son William (Bill).Kathleen was born October 27, 1921 and raised in Tacoma. She graduated from Aquinas Academy Prep school in 1938. She attended the University of Puget Sound and Washington State University, where she was affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She graduated from Seattle University with a BS in nursing, having done her clinical work at Providence Hospital in Seattle. She attended University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio doing post graduate work in nurse anesthesiology. She did private anesthisia work at Providence Hospital until her marriage to William B. Landram November 9, 1946.Kathleen worked with her husband at Belfair Builders Supply for 25 years and was also active in community affairs. She had been President of the Sunset Beach Water Association, a member of the League of Women Voters, active in the Belfair Genealogy group, a Mason County school board member and member of the Belfair P.T.A., where she had been awarded the "Golden Acorn" award. After retirement, she served on the Mason County Board of Equalization. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, as well as reading and playing bridge. She was a member of the "Prince of Peace" Catholic Mission Church.She is survived by five sons Andrew H. of Chewelah, WA, Bruce M. of Minneapolis, MN, Glenn G. of Belfair, WA, George C. of Des Moines, WA, and Rudy R. of Kent, WA. There are 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.A private Catholic interment will be at the Twin Firs Cemetery in Belfair. A memorial service will be held at Prince of Peace Church Saturday, June 22, 2002 at 11:00 a.m.Public visitation is offered from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, June 19th and 20th. A Catholic Rosary will be held Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Rill Chapel at 1151 Mitchell Avenue, Port Orchard, WA. 98366. Memorials may be made to the William W. Landram Scholarship Fund at North Mason School District, P.O. Box 167, Belfair, WA. 98528.Kathy, "Mom", will be deeply missed and remembered for her extraordinary courage and determination in all that she did. She taught by example how to be honest, hardworking and loving toward all.
